TRICK or TREAT
IN MUNICH
It’s time for Halloween in Munich! Are you welcoming trick-or-treaters? Want to go trick or treating? Let’s make it happen in the city!
HALLOWEEN NIGHT
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2024
HOW IT WORKS:
-
Enter your Address to get on the map
Submit your address (street and house number only) in the form below if you’d like to welcome trick-or-treaters. If your PLZ doesn't appear in the drop down your area needs a neighborhood captain.
-
Add a label to your bell on Halloween
Download a printable label, or make your own, to let trick-or-treaters know where to ring to get some treats! It really helps to have a Jack-o-lantern outside of your building or in your window!
-
Welcome trick or treaters!
Trick or treating takes place on Halloween, October 31st. We recommend between 17:30 and 18:30. Be ready for trick or treaters with lots of treats!

FAQs
-
We get it! Who likes a sugar-fueled meltdown. Our approach: Some indulgence is allowed on Halloween night, then the rest of the candy goes into the sweetie jar and is only allowed sparingly, like normal treats.
-
There are always too many mini HARIBO packs. Some suggestions: ‘Celebration’ style candies, Mixed mini chocolate bars, traubenzucker. Many supermarkets like Lidl and Aldi now offer Halloween sweets at this time of year. Whatever it is, make sure it’s individually wrapped for safety reasons.
-
Yes! Nuts, sugarless gum or even small toys can be given out. Just consider safety (individually wrapped) and your budget. We can not be held for responsible for grumpy looks or whining, though!
-
We suggest 17:30 - 19:30. Dark enough for a spooky vibe, but not in the middle of most people’s dinner time.

This is only for Munich. I am currently a one woman, voluntary operation, and I’m doing this manually! I will prioritize addresses within city limits. I would love for this to spread to the surroundings of Munich. If you’d like to lend a hand email me at eleanor@eleanormayrhofer.com

The only form data requested is a house number - which is already readily available on Google. The information requested here is functionally and practically the same as what is collected and published for the Hofflöhmärkte.
The same spirit of fun and neighborliness is what I’m hoping to encourage with this effort.
